Private Lessons

About My Lessons

I am primarily a bass player, but I also teach beginning lessons on piano and guitar. I studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston where I received a degree in Professional Music. Music has been the best part of my life, and my goal as a teacher is to show young students how important (and fun) a music education can be. I tailor my lessons to each individual student, focusing on their interests (both musical and not) so I can help them develop in the direction that best suites them. I try, in most cases, to give an overall music education, not just one specific defined skill, because I find that the best musicians I know, and the ones who love music the most, are the ones that branched out beyond the first instrument they picked up as a kid.

Scheduling

You can choose whether you’d like weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly lessons. I personally recommend weekly – there’s so much information that flies by in two weeks or a month, I like to make sure the lesson material is progressing consistently. I provide 30-minute, 1 hour, or 90-minute lessons, and that’s definitely something that can be adjusted over time.

Payment

30 minute lessons    $30.00 per lesson
60 minute lessons    $50.00 per lesson
90 minute lessons    $70.00 per lesson

Coda

I am so excited about music, and my hope is that you or your child will be too, and that through lessons with me you or they can explore that excitement and develop it into creativity. I aim to maintain a safe and respectful environment for my students and I hope that you can respect that.
For the parents: I invite you to attend the first few lessons with your child to get to know me and my teaching style, and so you can feel as comfortable as possible. However,I find that with a parent in the room it’s sometimes harder to get a kid to really focus on the music (though that’s a bit of a challenge anyways, really), so I prefer to work with the student alone.

Please feel free to call me anytime if you have questions or if you would like to schedule a lesson.

I look forward to working with you!
